Join us for an open waltz hour in the Rose Room Bloom at 6:00 pm with the delightful music of Lake Effect. Following that, Bob Fabinski will orient new dancers to contra dance at 7:00.

The evening dance party starts at 7:30.  Lake Effect continues to play hot dance music for dances called by Evan DeSmitt.

🎶 Lively Fiddling and Picking – The driving tunes of Matt Sloboda and Catherine Sloboda will have you twirling across the dance floor. Sibling harmonies are so sweet!

🎶 Rhythmic Guitar – Chuck Abell’s rhythmic strumming of the guitar sets the pulse for a night of energetic movement.

All Dances Taught – Evan DeSmitt is one of the strong Rochester callers. Whether you’re a seasoned contra dancer or a newcomer, Evan’s gentle demeanor and commanding voice ensures a night filled with joy and laughter.

Experience the magic of contra dancing, where all are welcome, and no partner or experience is necessary. Bring your friends, family, and fellow dance enthusiasts for a night of lively music, connection, and community. If you like, come early for an introduction to contra elements at 7:00.

We have a sliding scale admission policy, with a target of $12. Pay more if you can, less if you can’t – come dance!
