The open band is led by Daphne Pickens on fiddle and Jane Knoeck on keyboard, playing from this repertoire. We also have a description of Open Band Nights.
Anyone who likes can bring an instrument and sit on the stage to play as little or as much as they like.

Bands
Open Band
Eric Rounds, fiddle, leader, Mark Henry, piano
Founded by Eric Rounds, open band nights in Rochester are now led by Daphne Pickens and Jane Knoeck. Like Eric, Jane has been an enthusiastic member of the Rochester traditional music community for many years. Daphne has grown up in the tradition and is on the faculty at the Kanack School of Music. We continue to use Eric’s original, great repertoire. Printed music is available at the dance, and you can pick up a copy online.
Daphne Pickens
Fiddler Extraordinare! Daphne has played for Rochester contras since high school, when she and Casey Murray played for us, and somewhat later with Ginger Majority. After 4 years at Oberlin, Daphne has returned to Rochester and teaches music in the Penfield Schools as well as at the Kanack School of Musical Artistry.
