Details
Colleen Liggett has arranged for Jane and Eileen to come down and play on her porch for Halloween, so that we can have a mini-Masquerade!
Costumes Welcome! A (virtual) award will be given to the best couple costume! You do not need to be in the same zoom/room in order to win this prize. Other awards will be given for the most historically correct costume, and for the most creative. As always, costumes and fancy dress are admired, but not required. feathered masks optional.
Tea and Special Halloween Treats that you make and eat yourself! Bill Donaldson has volunteered to make his fabulous pumpkin pie, but we’re still working on delivery options. We will be splitting people into multiple “breakout rooms” during the break, where you can talk to a small group, rather than trying to talk in the large group of people that we’re hoping for.

Caller
Colleen Liggett
A longtime member of our dance community, Colleen initiated live music at our dances, arranging music and organizing the first bands when the English dance series began in the 1980s. Colleen currently books our performers and has more recently turned her considerable enthusiasm towards calling. In addition to calling for us, she and her husband, John, host dances on their back porch.
Band
Sister Haggis
Eileen Nicholson Kalfass - fiddle, Jane Knoeck - piano, accordion
Western NY duo Eileen and Jane, are familiar to Rochesterians but also well known traveling musicians who play all over the country. Here they get together as good friends to play the tunes they love and give us a great time. We’ve known Eileen, daughter of long-time Syracuse caller Bob Nicholson, since she was a lass. Now playing nationally as a member of the bands Seaglass and Continental Drift, we always enjoy her lilting fiddle style. Jane is a founding member of The Groovemongers, and Montage, as well as a number of great combinations including Riverbend and New Brew.
