We’re excited to bring back Quicksilver, the dynamic duo of Cat and Alex bringing exciting Contra to the Rose Room.
? Lively Fiddling and Picking – The driving tunes of Catherine Sloboda will have you twirling across the dance floor.
? Playful Accompaniment – Alex Fortier brings a steady beat and lilting harmonies to the house.
All Dances Taught – Penelope Weinberger will be visiting from the DC area, where she has called for techno contra events there. We’ll be in good hands as Cat, Zak and Jilli explore new soundscapes for contra. Be sure to listen for their Easter eggs!
Experience the magic of contra dancing, where all are welcome, and no partner or experience is necessary. Bring your friends, family, and fellow dance enthusiasts for a night of lively music, connection, and community.

We have a sliding scale admission policy, with a target of $12. Pay more if you can, less if you can’t – come dance!

Penelope Weinberger
Penelope has been calling and organizing dances for over 20 years and is welcomed around the country. Hailing from the DC area, she has called all kinds of scenes, from traditional to techno. Working with dJ improper, he has organized the occasional Contra Sonic dances at Glen Echo.
