Liz Nelson
Music becomes movement and moving together becomes joy, just as natural as breathing.
Liz Nelson is a dance caller residing in Western Massachusetts. She is well-known for her clear, concise teaching and warm, welcoming presence. She knows that everyone can dance and firmly believes “if you’re having fun and being safe, you’re doing it right!” Nothing delights her more than working with a group of enthusiastic, joyful dancers (no matter what age or experience level).

A staple of the New England Scottish and contra scenes, Torrent features Nadia Gaya (accordion), Sarah Stefanski (fiddle) and Ross Parker (piano). Torrent plays a mix of traditional and contemporary contra dance tunes with a deft interplay of fiddle, accordion and piano that gets dancers’ feet moving and emotions soaring for maximum contra dance fun.
