As featured at the Rochester Thanksgiving Weekend, this evening of re-envisioned contra dance music will thrill and astound. Expected the unexpected from DJ Chuckabell as he matches accessble, fun dances with a wide range of meticulously crafted “techno” medleys that draw from pop, R&B, swing, alternative, and, of course, house/techno music. Club lighting and simple refreshments also provided. Beginner’s lesson at 6:45. $6 adults, $5 students or under 18. Children under 13 free. Sponsored by CDR.

Chuck Abell

In his caller persona, Chuck Abell brings us challenging dances that will exercise your mind and tickle your fancy with their intricate beauty. Chuck organizes the monthly caller meetings in Rochester to workshop new dances. He debuted his “DJ Abell” persona at our 2017 Thanksgiving Festival, with a Taste of Techno Contra session.
