Details

A spirited and very professional Ithaca-based band (violin, flute, and piano), with calling by the founder of our English Dance group. The evening dance is preceded by a Ball prep session 3:30 – 5:30 featuring music by Crooked Sixpence, with potluck fun afterwards. Breaking news: this dance is free, sponsored by Marcia Locke, a dedicated English (and contra) dancer who is moving away from Rochester after many years of supporting CDR.  Come help wish her well!

Caller

Richard Sauvain

Richard is the founder of Rochester’s current English dance series. His clear and persistent vision, quietly developed with his elegant, urbane style, is singularly responsible for the strong English Country Dance program Rochester has today. Beloved by all, his calling is always a pleasure to dance to.

Band

Crooked Sixpence

Kathy Selby - Fiddle, Gordon Bonnet - Flute, John Wobus - Piano

This Ithaca-based high-octane trio specializes in music for contradance and English dance. We will get you out of your seat and up on your feet!
