Jane Knoeck brings lots of experience to dance piano playing, and Eileen Kalfass fiddles up a storm. Together, they are Sister Haggis, full of fun. Bob Nicholson is a master caller whose understanding of contra choreography is so deep the dances happen effortlessly and beautifully.
Introduction to contra at 7:00, and the dance starts at 7:30. Prices are on a sliding scale; pay what you can to support the dance. Suggested adult admission is $10.

Bob is a veteran caller from Syracuse. He’s totally focussed on fun, accessible dances. His dance repertoire is deep and his memory is amazing. A versatile caller, Bob handles both Contra and English Country dances with ease, and events from advanced to weddings to introductory workshops.

Margaret Ball (violin)
Margaret has been playing music since childhood, both with her brother, Tim, and in the Ithaca traditional music scene. We are delighted to have her join us in Rochester.
Jane Knoeck
Jane Knoeck (piano, accordion)
Jane Knoeck is the doyenne of Rochester dance piano for both English country and contra. She is a member of the nationally touring band, The Groovemongers, as well as River Bend, Sister Haggis, and others reaching back over many years. It’s always a great night for dancing when Jane is on stage.
