Get Ready for a Unique Contradance Experience! Join us for a special Saturday contradance in the charming barn of longtime CDR member Al Fish. Afterwards, step outside to see the falling stars of the Orionid meteor shower.

We’re thrilled to have the lively caller Casey Carr and the fast-playing Possumtones String Band to make this an unforgettable event.

Meet our performers for this event:

🎶 Tom Owens on fiddle – Tom’s fiddling will set your feet in motion as you twirl around the barn.

🎶 Michelle Burack on banjo – Michelle’s banjo tunes add a delightful old-timey twist to the music.

🎶 Jordan Kleiman on bass – Jordan’s bass grooves will keep the rhythm strong throughout the dance.

Acclaimed caller/teacher Casey Carr is skilled at making new dancers of all ages feel comfortable while keeping experienced dancers on their toes. She has a collection of fascinating grid squares that she pulls out for larger events.

The PossumTone String Band, based in Rochester, NY, plays high energy music anchored in the Southern tradition. While most their tunes come from the Appalachian region of the United States, some are from the Midwest and beyond. The band plays music that’s centuries old as well as new tunes created in the past few years. They enjoy playing for dances, weddings, farmers’ markets, and other happy events.
