Join us for an unforgettable night of contra dancing this Thursday with the return of the fantastic caller Vikki Armstrong and the lively Southern tunes of Better Weather String Band.

Meet the Better Weather String Band:

🎶 Laura Taylor’s fiddle melodies will transport you to a world of music and dance.

🎶 Lloyd Graves‘s banjo skills add a delightful twang to the traditional tunes.

🎶 Valerie Graves‘s guitar harmonies keep the rhythm grooving all night long.

Caller Vikki Armstrong: Vikki is making her triumphant return to calling after a few years and bringing her passion for dance to the floor. She’ll even swap the caller’s hat for a mandolin after the dance clockwork is wound up!

Caller

Vikki Armstrong

Vikki Armstrong has been calling dances since 1991 (!!).  She’s charming, witty and fun.  She selects the right dances for every event, she is efficient and clear with teaching and she’s right in the pocket rhythm-wise with the music. She loves to call a barn dance, a contradance and/or a singing square, whatever the event calls for.  Be prepared to have a great dance when she’s in town.

Band

Better Weather String Band

Laura Taylor (fiddle), Scott Nissesson (bass), Lloyd Graves (guitar and banjo), Vikki Armstrong (mandolin)

The Better Weather String band plays hot southern old time music that gets you moving.  Laura Taylor on fiddle leads the band, Lloyd Graves on banjo, Valerie Graves on guitar, and Vikki Armstrong on mandolin. The band members are also dancers themselves and they make the music exciting and really danceable.  Not to be missed.
