Join Us for a Night of Dance and Community in the Heart of the South Wedge!
Caller Evan De Smitt, known for his precise timing and attentiveness to our enjoyment, will be selecting the dances to the merry tunes of Molly & Jane:
Meet the band:
🎶 Jane Knoeck on keyboard – A virtuoso musician whose strong rhythm and delightful harmonies will keep your feet tapping all night.
🎶 Molly Wilson on fiddle – A fixture on the English & Scottish country dance scene for many years, we’re delighted to welcome Molly to the Rose Room stage.
Whether you’re a seasoned contradancer or brand new to the dance floor, all are welcome! No partner or experience necessary – just a desire to have a great time. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors from the South Wedge community for a night of fun, laughter, and connection. Contra dancing is not just about the dance; it’s about building a welcoming and inclusive community. If you like, come early for an introduction class at 7:10.
We have a sliding scale admission policy, with a target of $10. Pay more if you can, less if you can’t – come dance!

Evan has recently joined the ranks of callers here in Rochester. A seasoned marching band musician (saxophone), Evan has great timing, a lovely, clear, resonant voice, and he is very attentive to the dancers.
